How fun is this theme? "Messy faces" and they have a special category for beginners this week so I am hoping for some great feedback. This group has so many amazing photographers in it and is full of great tips and instructions. I think I have learned so much already in the past two weeks and hope to learn a lot more this week! Click here to join in the fun (or go to http://www.iheartfaces.blogspot.com/)!
This is my oldest daughter on our annual Christmas Cookie Day, after a brief mishap with the flour. I tried some of the editing techniques that I have been reading about using the free version of picnik (which I also learned about from iheartfaces).
For my iheartfaces visitors, I am looking for the real feedback here. Photography is my new found passion and I really want to learn how to take the amazing photographs that I have seen on your sites the last couple of weeks (or even half as amazing would be thrilling to me!) So help me out - I can take it :) Many thanks for looking!
Great picture. Love her expression.
ReplyDeleteI like your picture. She is a sweetie. I can't think of anything to say except see if you can find a background that is free of distraction. I love happy kids : ). Her happy face brightened my day. Were the cookies good?
ReplyDeleteHer expression is priceless! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an expression! Great pic!
ReplyDeleteI think you have done a great job of employing what you have learned over the past few weeks (not knowing what earlier pictures looked like). I love her expression and the shallow depth of field. Your focus is right on her eyes. I try to avoid flash on all counts, which can be hard inside, but it might be something you would like to try. Great entry!
ReplyDeleteI love this picture! She is adorable and is showing a great expression!! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie myself so can't offer too much but I do like how you focused on her face. Her eyes are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job editing...I don't even usually try, because I never seem to get it right
ReplyDeleteShe definitely has a messy face... she looks like she didn't care that you took the picture as well, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job editing this photo. I really like the contrast in colors. I'm a beginner too so I can't offer much. One thing I've learned to really like is playing with the levels. I'm not sure if that is available at picnik but I use it in photoshop.
ReplyDeleteToo funny!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I'm so glad for the "beginners" category!
ReplyDeleteYour daughters are beautiful! What a blessing to be able to adopt! My friend just adopted a little girl from China.
Have a wonderful evening, and thank you for stopping by my blog!!
Alicia
I love the expression on her face.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
Wow - love the look on her face!
ReplyDeleteI love her expression in this picture! Nicely done! I like the vignetting around the edges and the overall tone of the photo - it's not overdone or underdone. Great entry!
ReplyDeleteLove that wicked smirk & the wild hair. What a combo! Thanks for stopping by my blog, we have a dog but he is defective.. he is picky and will only clean up if its meat or cheese, lol. Send yours over anytime!
ReplyDeleteWell, I am not one of the people who you saw super nice pictures from. However, I really love that expression on your daughter's face. :)
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot to submit a picture!! I need to add I Heart Faces to my bloglines so I can remember. GREAT picture!! She has such a cute little smirk!!
